Philosophy

The basic goal of Childrens Learning World is to provide an environment in which a child can freely and naturally realize his or her potential. The programs are designed to cultivate an enthusiasm for learning, to develop a positive self-image, and to achieve inner self-discipline.

Montessori Education

The goal of Montessori is to provide positive learning experience for the child. Montessori education and parents know the importance of a method that helps the child learn, develop good work habits, and a positive attitude towards himself/herself and the world around him/her.

The Montessori approach to learning is:

- emphasis is on taking personal responsibility for behavior and involvement in the group

- understanding a process and applying it to life

- teacher has unobtrusive role in classroom

- environment and method encourage self-motivation and individual responsibility

- mainly independent, individualized instruction

- mixed age grouping (3, 4, 5, 6)

- grouping encourages children to teaching and help others

- child sets time limit on any chosen project

- child sets his/her own learning pace

- child reinforces own learning by repetition of work and internal feelings of success

- multi-sensory materials for physical exploration

- child can work where he/she chooses, move around, and talk at will (may not disturb other children). Group work is optional
